What makes editing cost more.

How much footage you send5
More raw footage means more to watch and cut, even when the finished video is short. Plans cap it: one entry plan stops at 40 GB, 60 minutes and 1080p.
Motion graphics and color1,2
Animated titles, callouts and color correction command higher rates, and on marketplaces they usually sit in the top package.
Captions3,4
Some services include them; one subscription charges $95 a month extra for subtitles.
Rounds of changes1,2
Many freelance packages include one to four revisions; more costs extra.
Rush delivery1,2,7
Faster turnaround is an add-on: one Fiverr gig charges $20 for extra-fast delivery.

How to pay less without getting a worse edit.

  • Cut the obvious dead takes yourself

Most editors price by footage or time. Dropping the false starts and the five minutes before you hit your stride lowers the bill without touching the edit.

  • Record clean sound

A cheap clip-on mic near your mouth saves more editing time than any plugin. Noisy audio is slow to fix and never sounds as good.

  • Cut shorts from the long video

One recording can become the YouTube upload and a set of shorts. Ordering them together is cheaper per short almost everywhere.

  • Send a reference

One link to a video whose style you want beats a page of description, and it saves a round of changes.

  • Don't pay for a month you won't use

A subscription is good value only if you post as often as the plan assumes. If you post irregularly, pay per video.

How long does YouTube video editing take?

Subscriptions usually deliver in 1–3 business days and shorts in 1–2 days; Fiverr 10-minute packages take 2–7 days. In our test orders so far, DoneCut edits typically took under 90 minutes once they started, and you see a live estimate before paying.

Why is DoneCut cheaper?

Our AI editor does the editing, so there's no editor's hourly rate and no back-and-forth to schedule. The price depends only on how much footage you send, and you watch the whole edit before paying the second half.
